25 Finalists of Miss World Philippines 2011 announced

25 Finalists of Miss World Philippines 2011 were announced in a press presentation Thursday at the Midas Hotel, Pasay City (Metro Manila). They will be vying for the tittle on September 18, 2011. The winner will represent Philippines in Miss World 2011 in London. She will also be the first Miss World Philippines titleholder and will walk away with P1 million and an SMDC condominium unit.

Twenty-five hopefuls are vying for the title for a chance to represent the country in the Miss World beauty pageant in November of this year.

The 25 beautiful finalists are Samantha Nerville Purvor, Julian Savard, Karen Joyce Peñanueva, Irene Gabriel, Rogelie Catacutan, Richelle Therese Borja, Charlotte Melissa Tyler, Gaydra Rama, Martha Chloe Mcculley, Princess Tiffany Carbungco, Mercy Malaluan, Elaine Kay Moll, Gwendolyn Ruais, Joey Albert Short, Jaysel Arrozal, Loucelle de Jesus, Erin Lane, Donna Maricel Cardino, Mica Angela Angeles, Jayanne Marie Aldanese, Mae Liezel Ramos, Ma. Paula Bianca Paz, Christine Kate Adi, Helen Nicolette Henson and Erina Ann Lightholder.
The Swimsuit Competition is set on September 7 to 10 at Puerto Princesa City, Palawan with the beautiful Underground River as backdrop. Then on September 13, a Pre-Pageant Gala Night will take place at the Manila Hotel where guests will personally have a chance to meet the 25 lovely candidates.

Acquiring license from the Miss World Ltd. in January, Miss World Philippines (MWP) Country Director Cory Quirino set up the CQ Global Quest as the exclusive licensee. The outfit will also manage the pageant. At the event, Quirino said that the first Miss World Philippines is “an inspiring and exciting beginning.” She also hopes that first Philippine titleholder will also be the first to be crowned Miss World.
