Candace Kendall Crowned Miss New York USA 2014

Candace Kendall (Kuykendall) was crowned Miss New York USA 2014 at the conclusion of the pageant held at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, New York on Sunday night of January 19th, 2014. She will represent the Empire State in the upcoming Miss USA 2014 pageant.

Candace Kuykendall was former Miss New York Teen USA 2006. Kendall is a graduate of St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York with a BA in accounting and is working as a professional model.

Newly crowned Miss New York USA 2014 Candace Kendall. She will compete in the Miss USA 2014 pageant.

She is of mixed Filipino-Dutch descent. Her father is Dutch and Filipino (that’s why her family name is Kuykendall which a is Dutch name). Her grandparents were from the Philippines.

Candace’s court includes the fist runner-up Serena Bucaj, the second runner-up Brittany Jasenski, the third runner-up Ana Maria Lawson and the fourth runner-up Michelle Medoff.

At the same event, Corrin Stellakis was crowned Miss New York Teen USA 2014 and will compete in the Miss Teen USA 2014 pageant, scheduled for next July in the Bahamas.

There has been a change in leadership at Miss New York USA Organization with Cynthia Provost & Debbie Miller from D&D Investments as the new directors. However, the change hasn’t dampened contestant numbers, with 171 contestants in the Miss division and 81 contestants in the Teen division.
