21-year-old Crystal Lee was crowned Miss California 2013 at the conclusion of the Miss California Scholarship Pageant held on June 29th, 2013 at William Saroyan Theatre in Fresno. She will represent the state of California at the finals of Miss America 2014 pageant, scheduled to take place this September in Atlantic City.

At the time of crowning, Crystal Lee is the reigning Miss Silicon Valley 2013.

Her pageant platform is “Girls in S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).”
Third time’s the charm for Lee since this is her third year competing at Miss California. She was the first runner-up at last year’s Miss California pageant.

“I was born and raised in San Francisco, where I went to School of the Arts High School,” Lee wrote on her website. “I’m currently a senior at Stanford majoring in Human Biology and finishing my MA in Communication.”
With the title, Lee receives a $12,000 scholarship, in addition to $800 she won in the preliminaries, from the Miss California pageant.
So, up to now, there are two Miss America 2014 contestants with the same name Crystal Lee: Miss California and Miss Hawaii.
The first runner-up was Miss South Coast Caylynn Simonson, 22, of Bakersfield.
The second runner-up was Miss Culver City Katy Tang, 24, of Anaheim.
The third runner-up was Miss Central Coast Jordan Krinke of Placentia.
The fourth runner-up was Miss Pasadena Laura Berger of Glendale.
