Gabrielle Neilan Crowned Miss Oregon USA 2013

Gabrielle Neilan was crowned Miss Oregon USA 2013 at the Portland Sheraton Airport Hotel, Portland on November 25, 2012. The beauty from Gresham is 22 years old and stands 5’5″. She will represent the state of Oregon in the Miss USA 2013 beauty pageant.

Gabrielle is a beauty pageant veteran. She competed in Miss Oregon USA 2012 where she placed as a semi-finalist. Gabrielle was the third runner-up in Miss Oregon USA 2010 and the first runner-up in Miss Teen USA 2008. She is a graduate with a certification in Phlebotomy. She loves adventures and athletic.

As Miss Oregon USA 2013, Neilan wins $1,000, and scholarships to the New York Film School and Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo., as well as a new wardrobe.

If Neilan wins the national title of Miss USA 2013 she’ll be the first titleholder from Oregon to win the crown and would go on to compete in the Miss Universe competition.

It is great to learn that Neilan won the tittle just a week after her removing her thyroid. Less than a week before the competition, Neilan’s doctor told her she had thyroid cancer and she needed to have the organ removed. Even while recovering and feeling weak, the 22-year-old Gresham woman took the stage and won the title. She will now represent the state in next year’s Miss USA contest, even as doctors have her on a regimen to kill the cancer cells that remain in her body.
