Katherine Arnfield Crowned Miss Bermuda 2013

Katherine Arnfield, representing Smiths Parish, was crowned Miss Bermuda 2013 at the conclusion of the pageant held at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel on June 23, 2013. The 17-year-old beauty will represent Bermuda at the upcoming Miss World 2013 pageant to be held on September 28, 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Katherine also ươn the People’s Choice Award by readers of BerNews. According to BerNews, the Saltus Grammar School student Katherine has been on the school’s Honour Roll and received awards in swimming and dancing. She spends some of her spare time volunteering for Windreach, working at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo and the Matilda Smith Nursing Home, as well as modeling in local events.

“I have had the pleasure of being invited and walking in two London Fashion Weeks in 2011 and 2012″, Miss Arnfield said.

She will compete at the Miss World 2013 pageant in Indonesia.

“The Miss Bermuda pageant is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Already I have met many new people and experienced events and new challenges that I may not have had the chance to do otherwise. I love Bermuda so much and the opportunity to represent and promote my country is a true honour,” Katherine said when asked why she entered Miss Bermuda.

The first runner up was Miss Hamilton Parish Echaunti Swan. The second runner up was Miss Pembroke Chelzea Somner. The third runner up was Miss Southampton Denae Simmons and the fourth runner up was Miss Warwick Alexandra McMartin.
Other winners of the night included Denae Simmons, who took home the prize for Miss Photogenic, Echaunti Swan, who won the title of Miss Hospitality and Miss Congeniality.

Seven young ladies competed for the crown, they are: Miss Hamilton Parish Echaunti Swan, Miss Warwick Alexandra McMartin, Miss Pembroke Chelzea Somner, Miss Southampton Denae Simmons, Miss Devonshire Mikeisha Butterfield and Miss Sandys Jahshuntae Darrell.
