The Miss Bahamas Beauty Organization is pleased to announce that Miss Lakindes Brown – Miss Progress Bahamas once again sets to jet off representing the Bahamas at the Miss Caribbean World Pageant in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

On September 26, 2010, within one month of being crown Miss Bahamas Progress, Brown competed in Taranto Italy and won the coveted title, Miss Progress Ambiente, beating 58 other contestants, making her one of only four Bahamians to ever place or win a major international title in Bahamian forty years plus pageant history.

President of the MBBO, Miss Gaynell Rolle said, “I am so please of Lakindes’s ability and desire to spread her wings and soar in representation of the Bahamas as a true beauty ambassador, she exudes personality, charm, purpose and international appeal. She along with her pageant sisters Aquelle Plakaris – Miss Earth Bahamas and Carlrita Robinson – Miss International Bahamas, epitomizes the true meaning of “Beauties with a Purpose.”

Excited not only about another opportunity to represent the Bahamas on the world stage but also by her temptation to reveal her hush hush secret, bursting with enthusiasm Miss Brown said “ I am in my elements on the stage and when they say ‘Bahamas’ it gets me all fired up. I live for the moment being counted as a patriotic Bahamian who truly made a difference. This is me, this is who I am a bonafide Bahamian taking the Bahamas to the world, through the eyes of pageantry. I am looking forward to bring home the Miss Caribbean World title and who knows what else is in store,” she laughs.

MBBO for its 2010-2011 fiscal pageant year has already send it queens to eight (8) international pageants. By the close of its fiscal year which ends July, 2011 the organization would have sent its 2010-2011 queens ( 3 Miss Bahamas, 3 Miss Teen Bahamas, 6 Little Miss Bahamas) to more than nine (9) international pageants representing the Bahamas worldwide, to which Miss Rolle states “ We are true to our commitment of marketing the Bahamas throughout the world.”

The interest meeting for its 2011-2012 beauties has already began with contestants vying for the 2011 coveted titles of Miss Earth Bahamas, Miss International Bahamas, Miss Progress Bahamas, Miss Teen World Bahamas, Miss Teen Universe Teen and Miss Teen International Bahamas. The Pageant date is set for early August 2011. Interested persons can log on to www.missbahamas.org to apply.
