By winning the coveted Miss World 2013 crown, Megan Lynne Young has made history as the first ever Philippines’ representative to win the title.
“No words! Thank you so much for choosing me. I promise to be the best ever Miss World,” Megan responded to the question by the one of the host after winning the title.

Megan Lynne Young Wins First Ever Miss World Crown for Philippines
Earlier, Megan Young was announced the winner of Top Model Award earlier today. She was also the third runner-up of Multimedia Award, the fourth runner-up of Beach Fashion Challenge.
Megan Young has been one of the top contender for the Miss World crown since she was crowned Miss World Philippines 2013 at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque on August 18th, 2013.
At the finale of the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant held on September 28, 2013, at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia, Megan Young bested other 5 finalists to win the highest place. This is the second tittle for the Philippines in 2013. Earlier, Philippines also won the Miss Supranational held in Belarus on September 6th, 2013.
Megan was born in the USA before moving to the Philippines when she was 10. The 23-year-old beauty hailed from Ologapo stands 1.70 m tall. Currently studying Digital Film making, Megan has been appearing on screen since the age of 15, starring in films, TV shows, and as a presenter. She is best known for being a former celebrity housemate on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2. Megan is an alumna of ABS-CBN’s rival television station GMA’s StarStruck and a former member of GMA Artist Center.
Megan has ambitions of moving behind the camera in the future, taking the role of director after gaining experience and finishing her qualifications. In her spare time she enjoys playing video games, she says she has and always will be a Harry Potter fan, and that she is “guided by my heart… I think and speak from it.”
In 2013, she joined Binibining Pilipinas 2013 where she was denied because of her topless photos with a certain magazine. The photoshoot turned out to be an artistic photo cover. These photos were sent to the Miss World Organization just hours before the finale. However, MWO officially dismissed the accusations.
