Miss Italia nel Mondo 2011 or Miss Italy in the World 2011 the 20th anniversary edition of the pageant, will be held Saturday, June 25, at the Lungomare Falcomata, a popular beachfront in the Calabria region in Southern Italy. 40 beauties of Italian ancestry from all over the world will compete in the annual event, created by Enzo Mirigliani in 1991.
The reigning Miss Italia nel Mondo is Kimberly Castillo Mota, from the Dominican Republic.
Authorities at Reggio Calabria are excited about this year’s event, which will be telecast worldwide through RAI Italia. This exposure will be of outstanding promotion for the region.
Mirigliani is also the organizer of the official “Miss Italia” pageant, which used to send the winners to the Miss Universe competition until 1999. The reigning Miss Italia nel Mondo is Kimberly Castillo Mota, from the Dominican Republic.
