Miss World 2013 “Beauty With A Purpose” Day

The 23rd of September was the “Beauty with a Purpose Day“, celebrating the achievements across the planet of everybody involved in ‘Beauty with a Purpose’. 10 contestants were selected to participate in a television show in Indonesia discussing some of the best projects of the year. Utilizing the social media, all the contestants presented the projects that they have been working on, how they got involved, what they have achieved and why they chose their specific causes.

Beauty with a Purpose was created by Julia Morley in 1972 and has become an inseparable part of Miss World pageant. “Every year at Miss World many of the contestants take part in charity projects & selfless acts within their community. They present to us their projects and the best project we see receives the Beauty with a Purpose Award, which rewards them with many points towards their final score, but also $10,000 will be presented to the charity that the winner has been working alongside,” wrote a statement on Miss World website.

Beauty with a Purpose is the most admired aspect of Miss World. It is, in fact, the heart of the organization which attracts the largest number of delegates every year. The numerous charities funded by Miss World Organization around the globe are shining testaments of going beyond skin-deep with their mission/objectives and helping out the less privileged in the most humane way possible.

The 10 Miss World 2013 Contestants were selected to feature in the Beauty with a Purpose TV Show, alongside with Julia Morley (Chairperson of MWO), Wenxia Yu (Miss World 2013), Liliana Tanoesoedibjo of MNC Group (MW 2013 Sponsor), are:
