21-year-old Rolene Strauss was crowned Miss South Africa 2014 at the conclusion of the glittering pageant held at the Sun City Superbowl on Sunday night of March 30, 2014. She will represent Sooth Africa in both Miss World 2014 and Miss Universe 2014 pageants.

The medical student from Volksrust in Mpumalanga has been one of the favorite contenders in the pageant. With the title, she walks away with cash prize, a car and products valued at more than R1.3-million. According to the Mail Guardian, “she also gets thousands of rands in cash and study bursaries to award to South Africans that she meets during her reign. Cellular company Cell C is also giving her access to R200 000 to spend on random acts of kindness”.

The first runner-up was Ziphozakhe Zokufa from the Eastern Cape and the second runner-up was Matlala Mokoko from Limpopo.
