Skyler Kamaka, Miss Diamond Head, was crowned Miss Hawaii 2012 on June 9, 2012 at the Hawaii Convention Center. She will represent Hawaii in Miss America 2013Pageant to be held in Las Vegas in January 2013.

Kamaka, 21, is a sports major at Concordia University at Portand, OR. The first time was the charm for Skyler Kamaka: “This is the first time I’ve ever entered a pageant,” Kamaka said back stage shortly after receiving her crown. “My preliminary pageant (for Miss Diamond Head) was my very first one, and this is my very first Miss Hawaii. I’m just ecstatic right now.”
Kamaka also won the Golf Tournament Scholarship and tied with Miss Ala Moana Courtney Kielemaikalani Gaddis for most ticket sales (both women received full sets of prizes for the tie). Gaddis won the scholarship for community service.
Her talent is hula dancing. Her pageant platform is “Athletes Promoting Inclusion.”

The first runner-up was Miss Kahala Moani Hara. The second runner-up was Miss East Oahu Serena Karnagy. The third runner-up was Miss Latina Hawaii Joleen Iwaniec. The fourth runner-up was Miss Waikiki Sarah Correia.
