The 20-year-old beauty Angeli Dion Gomez from Cebu bagged the last beauty pageant title in 2013 – Miss Tourism International 2014 – for the Philippines. The 17th edition of the pageant was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia on the 2014 New Year’s Eve.
Angeli Dion Gomez was crowned by the out-going queen Rizzini Alexis Gomez, also from Cebu, Philippines. It is the first back-to-back victory for the country in Miss Tourism International pageant.
Speaking to the press after winning the title, Angeli Dion Gomez got very excited, “The first thing I plan to do is to meet my family whom I have not met for about one month and have a nice breakfast with them tomorrow,” she told reporters. As the title holder, Gomez will be tasked as traveling ambassador in promoting informal international relations between countries to spread the message of peace, goodwill and friendship.”
The first runner-up was Sunidporn Srisuwan of Thailand (Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2013/2014).
The second runner-up was Sarah Czarnuch of Australia (Miss Metropolitan 2013/2014).
The third runner-up was Michelle Alexis Torres of the Dominican Republic (Miss Tourism Global International 2013/2014).
The fourth runner-up was Thaarah Ganesan of the host country Malaysia (Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International 2013/2014).
The top 10 completed with representatives from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Vietnam, Ukraine, Portugal and Zimbabwe.

Congratulations to the Philippines for a very successful year in pageantry. Gomez’s title is the fourth international victory for the country in 2013. On September 6, Mutya Datul won Miss Supranational 2013 in Belarus; on September 28, Megan Young won Miss World 2013 in Indonesia; and last December 17, Bea Rose Santiago won Miss International 2013 in Japan.
