The finale of Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2013 pageant will be held at the Toluca International Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional de Toluca). 33 finalists representing the 29 states of Mexico, the Distrito Federal and three designates will be competing for the right to represent the country in Miss World 2014 and Miss Universe 2014.
As requested by the Miss World Organization, the Miss World Mexico 2014 (Nuestra Belleza Mundo México 2014) will be selected in a separate event held in the same place on October 17th, 2013. Reigning Miss World Mexico Marilyn Chagoya will crown her successor at the end of the event. During this preview event, which for the first time will be streamed to a worldwide audience for National Television in a Live Event on Televisa, all contestants compete in Swimsuit and Evening Gown to select the top 10 finalists for the finale 2 days later. The winner of Miss World Mexico will no longer participate in the second contest – Miss Universe Mexico.
The Miss Universe Mexico 2014 will be crowned on October 19, 2013. Cynthia Duque from Nuevo León will crown her successor at the end of the pageant. This means that Cynthia will leave Mexico to compete in Miss Universe 2013 pageant as soon as she crown the Miss Universe Mexico 2014 winner since she must be in Moscow by October 23rd the latest.
Currently, the winners of some special awards have been announced. They will be automatically fast-tracked in to the semi-final. They are:
- Miss Top Model: Nereyda Sánchez of Jalisco.
- Miss Congeniality: Barbara Falcón of Tamaulipas.
- Miss Talent: Daniela Álvarez of Morelos.
- Miss Sports: Maritza Heredia of Yucatán.
- Academic Award: Korina Salinas of Querétaro.
- Personality Fraiche: Josselyn Garciglia of Baja California Sur.
- Steps to Fame: Vianey Vázquez of Aguascalientes.
All the contestants will be introduced to the public on October 12, 2013 in a press conference.
National Costume Competition: In this competition the contestants are not evaluated, only the costumes. It’s a competition showing the country’s wealth embodied in the colorful and fascinating costumes made by Mexican designers combining the past and present of Mexico. For the Nuestra Belleza México Organization this event is very important because it discloses the creative work of the great Mexican designers and also elects the costume to represent Mexico in Miss Universe the next year. Also, some costumes are elected to represent Mexico in other beauty contests. The winning costume designer will receive the “Aguja Diamante Award”.
